Yardz partners with EquipmentWatch

Yardz, the US-based IT platform designed to help contractors manage owned and rented equipment, has formed a partnership with EquipmentWatch, which supplies data and intelligence on heavy equipment.

Yardz is designed to give contractors oversight on their equipment and ensure equipment is “allocated effectively and cost-efficiently to the places it’s needed most, as well as saving money on duplicate and overdue rentals.”

The new partnership will allow Yardz to import high volumes of equipment data through the EquipmentWatch application programming interface (API).

Jason Perez, CEO of Yardz said, “The addition of EquipmentWatch to our platform gives our customers the ability to access a new level of product detail all in one place rather than tracking down multiple sources.

“All of this will result in better equipment decision-making, which benefits everyone.”

Yardz users will be able to find information and specifications for “thousands of pieces of heavy equipment,” the company confirmed.

“In doing so, Yardz will greatly facilitate the user’s process of determining which items will be the proper size, weight, or horsepower to handle each project.”

Customers, including contractors, construction companies, and utilities, will use it “to utilise the myriad categories of data to help them optimise their equipment-management decisions.”

Yardz said the partnership would also allow customers “to find the best equipment for each job in less time; pair different piece of equipment together for optimal performance; automatically categorise and quickly analyse their equipment needs; compare related equipment data quickly and accurately; and calculate equipment operating costs.”

“Contractors will not only gain valuable insight into previously unavailable information, but they will also be able to make sound decisions regarding each project’s equipment needs and expenditures, which will maximise project performance – and profits.”

Potential future functionality for Yardz will include data that can help contractors decide between owning vs. renting equipment; determining fair market value of each piece of equipment, or forecasting future value; calculating lifetime operating costs; and information about how to dispose of old equipment.

“They may even be able to search for equipment based on highly detailed specifications, such as searching for a front loader based on bucket width.”

In recent months, Yardz also launched an online rental management portal for contractors.
