Terex announced today that it has been awarded an $18.9 million contract to build 200 Terex TX51-19MD, 2272 kg (5000 lb) capacity, LRTF (Light Rough Terrain Forklifts) for the USMC (United States Marine Corps) through its Terex Government Programs unit in Stafford,
The Terex TX51-19MD LRTF is a well established model that has been in the USMC inventory for many years. The TX51-19MD, manufactured by Terex AWP (Aerial Work Platforms), is a militarised version of the original commercial model to meet the rigorous demands of the USMC, including: fording, beach operations and the full spectrum of military lifting missions.

"We are proud to continue our support to the USMC through this re-procurement," said Thomas Manley, vice president, Terex Government Programs. "We have been fulfilling military contracts for close to a decade and the Corps has been one of our most loyal customers. They are demanding because of their mission and they deserve the best we can provide. We are pleased with the Corps' continued confidence in our TX51-19MD. We have a first class project team in place, and recognize supporting the Corps with our equipment is a privilege that must be earned every day."

Dave Gillrie, GM Global Products, Terex AWP said, "We are pleased to continue to supply our rugged equipment to the USMC. Genie and Terex compact rough terrain telehandlers are designed to meet the most extreme conditions of both commercial and military customers. These versatile machines respond flexibly and reliably to every mission, and they are specifically designed for ease of operation and service. We continue to improve our support to the military by providing quality equipment that is backed by our industry leading Genie 360°TM global services."

For this re-procurement, Terex will be providing a tailored extended five-year warranty to ensure operational readiness for the Fleet Marine Forces. Genie says that its 360 global support can be readily expanded for military customers with field service representatives to provide certified work in restricted areas and during operational contingencies.
