Star Platforms maintains stately home

Star Platforms has provided two articulated boom lifts to help with the maintenance and refurbishment of Tyringham Hall in Buckinghamshire, UK.

The UK-based powered access rental company provided two Skyjack SJ46 Articulated Jib (SJ46AJ) units. With a working height of 21.21m and an outreach of 8.38m, the units allowed the maintenance staff to reach the outside facias and windows on each floor of the building.

Built in 1797, the English stately home was designed and built by the architect Sir John Soane and is surrounded by formal gardens created by fellow architect Sir Edwin Lutyens. It has Grade I listed building status and is therefore protected by strict rules designed to preserve its historic integrity.

According to Star Platforms, Tyringham Hall’s owners said the maintenance teams, which received a familiarisation with the SJ46AJ when they were delivered, allowed them to work quickly without risking damage to the building - which was essential due to the hall’s protected status.
