Skyjack to introduce SJ85 AJ and SJ1256 TH

As previously reported on khl.com, Skyjack will use the upcoming 2017 trade shows to showcase its new prototype telehandler and articulating boom.

The SJ1256 TH telehandler will make its debut at World of Concrete in Las Vegas. The unit will feature the 107hp Deutz TCD3.6L powerplant, using DEF fluid but with no particulate filter for Tier 4 Final compliance.

The machine will be heavily based on the SJ1056 TH, Skyjack said, with these Skyjack features: Skycoded control system; Flexcab for easily converting open cab units to closed cab; Readyhook yoke mounted rigging hook for effective handling of suspended loads; and shared control systems, mechanical, electrical and hydraulic layout from the rest of the TH range, ensuring instant familiarization for operators of other TH machines, the company said.

The unit will be for sale in the second quarter of 2017. It will be shown at World of Concrete, The Rental Show and ConExpo.

Also new in 2017 will be the the SJ85 AJ articulating boom, shown at The Rental Show and ConExpo.

The unit has 85 feet of platform height, a horizontal reach of 56 feet, and up-and-over clearance of 34 feet. Its dual capacity rating of 750/500 pounds (340/227 kg) and two to three people rating, aims to increase productivity and jobsite performance, the company said.

As with the SJ63 AJ, the SJ85 AJ will utilize a similar open center knuckle riser design, providing the following benefits:

• Stowed compact dimensions, minimal tailswing, efficient function speeds – from ground to maximum height in around 60 second
• SkyRiser (a true vertical rise without drifting.)
• SpeedyReach (lowering of the fly boom to ground level for re-stocking without lowering the riser, which maximized operational uptime.)

The unit also features Skyjack's SkyCoded, AxleDrive and EasyDrive systems. The unit will be for sale in North America in the second quarter of 2017.
