Palazzani Canary Wharf clean up
By Euan Youdale09 September 2016
TCA Lifting is using a Palazzani XTJ43 tracked platform at business district Canary Wharf in London, UK, to clean buildings and their windows.
The Palazzani dealer for the UK & Ireland recently added the 43m working height model to its rental fleet. It is working at Westferry Circus, a development of three buildings on the North perimeter of Canary Wharf; a mixture of offices and retail and construction, completed in 1991. Specifically, 1 Westferry comprises nine floors of office space arranged over a number of ground floor retail units.
The XTJ43 was selected for job due to its working height and telescopic fly jib which allows precise positioning at height. Other important factors were the XTJ43’s low weight, under 11 tonnes, and large rubber crawler tracked chassis which provides low ground pressure and allowed the machine to drive across marble and granite slabs without causing damage.
The Palazzani XTJ43 has multiple outrigger positions and maintains full working height and 360 degree slew in all positions. This was essential to allow the machine to set up on a narrow pathway, avoiding any manhole covers, pillars or similar hazards or obstructions.
The company said the machine has been on several rental jobs, both as a high reach mini crane and as a tracked access platform, with great interested from rental companies.
