Mills invests $71m on aerial platforms

26 October 2012

Brazilian company Mills Estruturas e Serviços de Engenharia SA has placed US$71 million orders for self-propelled aerial platforms for its Rental division.

Mills told IRN that the orders had been placed with JLG Industries, Terex AWP and Skyjack, with the monthly deliveries to begin at the end of this year. The company preferred not to provide details of the number of units it was buying or the types of machines.

The $71 million order is marginally more than Mills spent on platforms in the year to June 2012.

Mills and other Brazilian rental companies are investing because of the vast amount of work required on infrastructure, events (World Cup and Olympics) and housing.

IPAF estimated earlier this year that Brazil’s access rental sector would see 40% growth every year for the next five years.
