MEC adds 41 foot RT

25 March 2008

MEC Aerial Platforms’ new 41–foot rough terrain scissor, the 4191RT, weighs 9,700 pounds, can be driven at full height and has a rear oscillating axle. A dual deck extension version will be available later this year, as will a 25–foot model, the 2591RT, which will have a 1 ton platform capacity and weigh around 8,000 pounds.

MEC's Sales Director Jim Tolle says that he sees no signs at all of a downturn in the North American market for 2007. The company is planning to double production this year, with a 50/50 split between US and export business. It will enter the Canadian market in 2007 for the first time.

Tolle says it is still MEC's aim to have a line of self–propelled booms before the end of this year.
