Sweden-based rental company Kranpunkten has added two electric trucks to its customer delivery fleet.

The company, which deployed its first electric truck in Gothenburg last year, said the investment comes after initial success in the city and ensures customers will receive a fully electric alternative when receiving machines.

Its fleet of green rental lifts will now be transported to and from the worksite quietly and with zero emissions in both Stockholm and Malmö, where the trucks will be deployed.

Both trucks are expected to be in operation in the first half of 2024.

Andreas Wåhlander, regional manager of Kranpunkten West, said, “The use of electric trucks for machinery transport is a measure to reduce Kranpunkt’s footprint in an area where we have our greatest environmental impact.

“Our experiences with the first electric truck in Gothenburg show that our customers also highly value the opportunity for more sustainable deliveries.”

According to the company, the move is part of an acceleration of its wider sustainability goals of reducing its operations to be completely climate-neutral by 2030.

As well as depots in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö, the company also has locations in Förslöv and Uppsala. Across its depots, Kranpunkten has 4500 machines available for rental.
