The developer behind a safe access control technology for AWPs is seeking investment for its next generation product.

The Kosran Safe Access Control (SAC) system was specifically designed and developed to prevent unauthorised use of access equipment on job sites. The first generation product was recently shortlisted for the Contribution to Safe Working at Height category at the International Awards for Powered Access (IAPAs).

Patrick Sheeran, who owns the SAC technology, has already designed the next generation system – and is now looking for investment to take it into production.

Patrick said: “Being shortlisted for an IAPA was a wonderful recognition of our past achievements - however we have already moved on. I now seek investment for the next generation, game-changing Safe Access Control technology for MEWPs, which I believe has real patent potential and marketability.”

Kosran SAC is the only technology on the market that provides remote control over both the aerial work platform and who can operate it. Nationwide Platforms continues to promote it under its own SkySentry brand; and BAM Nuttall has fitted Kosran SAC to its entire mobile crane fleet.

The next generation technology is ready for production and license to equipment manufacturers and their tier one suppliers. Mr Sheeran also believes there is a reseller market via tracking and telematics companies in the plant industry.

Mr Sheeran is hoping to emulate the success of Nationwide’s SkySiren secondary guarding system for boom lifts, which Genie recently licensed from Nationwide’s owner Lavendon Group.

Patrick has formed a new technology licensing company that owns the SAC Technology. He is the owner and sole shareholder of the new company and is inviting investment of UK£500,000 in exchange for 40% of its equity; or alternatively three tranches of £165,000, each in return for 12 per cent equity in the new company.
