Kimberly Group acquires High Level

28 January 2011

UK telehandler and powered access company, Kimberly Group, has acquired High Level Platforms for an undisclosed amount.

High Level, based in Poole, Dorset, on the south coast, will operate as an independent entity within Kimberly and will retain all management, staff and its identity.

The only shareholders of High Level, Phil Ainsworth and his wife Julie Ainsworth, have retired and David Solomon, the general manager, has been appointed managing director and will report directly to Ray Ledger, chairman of Kimberly.

"This important acquisition totally reflects our strategy and follows the acquisition of 1st Access Rentals and Pinnacle Platforms in Scotland last May, both of which have been seamlessly integrated and are performing well above expectations," said Mr Ledger.

"This deal ticks all the boxes, being well managed, profitable, financially stable and operating a good quality fleet of equipment with an average age of less than three years.

"High Level will be encouraged to develop further in to a very major regional business covering the south coast from Brighton to Plymouth thus linking with the Kimberly Access depots in West and East London."

Kimberly has five depots North West, Yorkshire, Midlands, East and West London and operates a fleet of 1500 machines primarily focusing on access and telehandlers.
