Lifetime Achievement Award - Gunnar Glifberg, formerly Cramo

Former Cramo chief executive officer Gunnar Glifberg will be one of the two new inductees into the American Rental Association's Rental Hall of Fame.

The other inductee is the late William Berry, who joined his father's rental business as a young man and rose to become chief executive officer of US Rentals, one of the largest rental companies in the US.

The formal indication ceremony will take place on Monday, 6 February during the ARA's Rental Show in New Orleans.

Mr Berry, who built US Rentals into a US$600 million company with 131 depots, passed away aged 48 in September 2000 after a two-year battle with cancer.

For Mr Glifberg the Hall of Fame accolade comes less than a year after he was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2011 European Rental Awards, organised by International Rental News (IRN) and the European Rental Association (ERA).

Mr Glifberg was recruited as CEO by Cramo in 1994 and was instrumental in creating a rental service company that served as a model for the industry throughout Europe.

The ARA created the Rental Hall of Fame in 2000 to recognise individuals who have made an impact in the development of the equipment rental industry.
