Garth McGillewie: 1961-2023

ALH has sadly learned that AMS-Merlo founder, Garth McGillewie, died on June 21, 2023. He was 61 years old.

McGillewie founded Applied Machinery Sales in 2011 in Rock Hill, S.C., where he became one of the first U.S.-based importers, dealers and renters of Italian-made Merlo telehandlers.
McGillewie is survived by his wife Wendy Dawn McGillewie; his children, Jessica King (Stephen), Garth Errol McGillewie, III, Christian Brandt McGillewie and Madison Nicole Long; his granddaughter Lucy; his parents, Garth Errol McGillewie Sr. and Cynthia Joan McGillewie; his sisters, Charmaine McGillewie Carpenter and Lara German (Rodney); his nieces, Micah, Amber, Courtney and Gabriella; and his nephew Austin. He is also survived by his four great nephews and niece.
