Fearon takes last IPAF Summit speaker spot

By Euan Youdale11 March 2014

Matt Fearon, president of Terex AWP, has been confirmed as a speaker for the IPAF Summit, taking place in Windsor, near London, on 3 April.

Mr Fearon completes the speaker programme for the Summit and will talk about big booms and the issues surrounding the sector, including safe operation and design.

He will be joined by David Miller, deputy chief inspector of air accidents at the UK’s Air Accident Investigation Branch, who will look at how the organisation investigates accidents and compiles accident statistics. IPAF recently criticised the time it was taking for the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) in the UK to provide details findings from its investigation into the fatal accident last year involving a Genie Z-135 boom owned by Kimberly Access.

Other speakers at the summit include Dave Smith, chair of the UK Contractors Group Health & Safety Leadership Group, who will report on how contractors work to keep MEWP use safe and what they expect of their suppliers.

Meanwhile, Bill Plummer, chief financial officer at United Rentals, speaking with Fred Bratman, United’s head of investor relations, will review how the access and rental industries can best connect with investors and bankers.

The IPAF Summit takes place at Windsor, near London, on 3 April, alongside the IAPA awards dinner. The early bird rate for booking for the Awards is valid until 28 February. Bookings can be made online at www.ipaf-summit.info

There are a number of sponsors for the IAPA awards. Gold Sponsors are Genie and Power Towers. Other sponsors are JLG Industries and Sinoboom (Silver Sponsors), Haulotte (Evening Reception Sponsor) and ATN (Supporting Sponsor). Facelift is sponsor of the Photograph of the Year award.
