Discover the 10-year rule at Europlatform

The programme for the Europlatform access rental conference has been finalised with the addition of Peter Davis, E2E (End to End servicing) technical manager at Australian rental giant Coates Hire. Mr Davis will talk about the 10-year rule an Australian regulation which requires aerial work platforms to undergo a major inspection after 10 years.

In the light of the current debates in Europe about the correct financial model for rental companies, concerning issues of how long equipment should be kept, maintenance, rebuilding programmes, etc. Mr Davis will explain how the rule works in practice, what it means for fleet planning and how rental companies manage it in practice. We expect this topic to give rise to some very lively discussions

Mr Davis has worked ay Coates Hire since 1983, with only a six month break in 2002/2003, he has worked in many positions and was appointed to his current role at the beginning of the year.

The E2E Project includes developing new electronic systems such as E forms for servicing, fleet tracking, process, workshop and parts supply optimisation and training. Mr Davis also provides technical and compliance support to the operation divisions of Coates Hire nationally.

Mr Davis is a member of various Australian standards committees including MEWPs (mobile elevated work platforms) and telescopic handlers. He is also a member of the EWPA (Elevated Work Platform Association of Australia) and the newly formed THA (Telescopic Handler Association of Australia).

Europlatform is being held at the MECC Maastricht, The Netherlands on 13 September, the day before APEX opens and the overall theme is Financing Growth.
