The new TUNLIFT 737-500 from Sky Aces is designed for tunnel maintenance and repair jobs. The machine will be launched at APEX on 14 September.

This is one of the first pictures available of the new tunnel maintenance platform from Sky Aces, the recently formed Italian manufacturer led by Paolo Balugani, the ex-Oil & Steel executive, and several colleagues.

It shows the TUNLIFT 737-500, a truck mounted platform with a big platform and 500 kg capacity designed for tunnel inspection work, pictured this week in a road tunnel in Italy.

A key feature of the platform - and which is clearly shown in the photo - is that the cage extensions are sideways rather than longitudinal, and there is a clever swivelling mechanism that provides a stepped platform, giving workers better access to the sloped roof.

The machine will get its first showing at APEX in Maastricht, mounted on an IVECO Daily 60.17, a 6.0 t GVW unit. It will also be available on a 3.5 t carrier.
