36 m launch from Ruthmann

Ruthmann has launched the 36 m T 360 truck mount, displayed its new T 170 model for the first time and introduced a new control panel.

Introduced at Platformers Days in Hohenroda, Germany, which took place 11 - 12 September, the 35 m working height model is designed to be mounted on 15 tonne trucks and above. It features 31 m of outreach, 2.3 m more than on previous models, and almost 360 degree circular range of motion with a 100 kg basket load.

The T 360 also closes the working height gap in the 33 m - 38 m category. With a short overall length of 9.47 m combined with a height of 3.77 m and short wheelbase of 7 m, and above, the manufacturer is aiming the model at the replacement market in the 35 m category, as well as wider customers in rental, power utility, local government and other end users.

It has a 600 kg payload and a range of optional equipment, including, box bodies, cab covers, LED marker lights, aluminium platform gates, work basket guard rails.

The model also includes a control system with automatic outrigger range adaption. Outriggers can be activated using controls at rear the on both sides of the vehicle, on the passenger side and from the work basket. The automatic set-up/retraction mechanism and 5° permissible inclination are also standard features.

The work basket has a 350 kg capacity and interchangeable basket system. Depending on the assignment, operators can use the standard aluminium 1.7 m x 0.86 m basket or other baskets like the extra wide 2.1 m x 0.86 m basket, a narrow tree cutting basket, or an insulated basket, with boom to chassis insulation, for up to 1000 V power lines.

It has a five-section telescoping boom system and 185 degree swivelling jib, with the jib and basket console of this model optimised to suit the specific needs of power utility companies.

The new control panel in the work basket, named the Cockpit, incudes a comprehensive display and functional even when wearing work gloves. Depending on the assignment, the Cockpit can be moved to a different part of the basket.

The T 360 is Euro 6 compatible and can be mounted on many different chasses. Customers can order 15 t and 18 t or all-wheel drive chassis.

The Steiger T 170 was also shown for the first time at Platformers Days. Based on a 7.49 tonne chassis, the compact model is 7.48 m long, 3.36 m high and has a 3.6 m wheelbase. Working height is 17 m, outreach is 12 m. The model has a 600 kg load capacity and a range of options as the T 360.

The four hydraulic vertical support cylinders attached directly to the base frame provide the necessary stability within the contours of the vehicle, suitable when working in heavy traffic on busy streets for street light and transformer maintenance, plus tree-cutting applications, for example.
